Our History

River Ridge Counseling and Coaching opened it’s doors in 2007. Two part-time counselors shared three offices divided up between 480 square feet in the lower level of the Shuler Building in Sandy. In 2008 Hollis MacLean Wenzel joined. The following year Dr. Dave Wenzel added an intern, and the offices went through a remodel and expansion which provided three counseling offices, a waiting room and a business office. In 2010 Dave moved to full-time. The next two years saw significant growth: Affordable Professional Counseling joined our space and a fully equipped 180 square foot play therapy room was added.

In March of 2018 Dave and Hollis envisioned a larger space, with a more spacious and comfortable waiting area, larger offices with solid sound-proofing, a larger business office, and an expanded play room. The perfect spot was found in Heritage Square, our current location. Now with a total of five counselors River Ridge is positioned to assist the Greater Sandy Community reach toward wholeness and well being.
